The act of mirroring, both in its metaphorical and literal definitions, is a vital component of my work. In its metaphorical sense, I am interested in pushing architecture into movement. I see architecture as the poetry of the nomad and seek to translate this poetry by turning consistent into transient, and immovable into transferable while honoring its nonlinear reality. For the nomad, to end is to continuously begin.
In a more literal manner, I am fascinated by the materiality of the mirror itself. Its timeless and placeless quality, its inability to hold memory, and its direct and confrontational nature are all elements I am interested in manipulating, disrupting, and utilizing to reflect the functions of memory in a timeless and placeless context when reconnection to the land is rendered impossible.
